UPDATED Cass Summer Basketball Info
Updated: Jun 19
Dear Parents and Players –
I am BEYOND EXCITED to announce that the GHSA has permitted the use of balls and equipment starting NEXT WEEK (June 22-26).
So, we have confirmed gym time for team training / practice the following days and times:
Monday 6/22 from 3:30-5:30 pm (MAIN GYM)
Tuesday 6/23 from 3:30-5:30 pm (MAIN GYM)
Thursday 6/25 from 3:30-6:00 pm (MAIN GYM)
This will be a chance for us to finally get back together and push each other in drills and skill work, and also to welcome some of our incoming freshmen (please bring your own water and come dressed for practice, as they have not yet allowed entry in the locker room).
We will follow all GHSA guidelines to ensure the safety of our athletes and their families, and if the answer is yes to any of the questions below, the athlete should not participate:
o Do you or have you had a fever in the last week?
o Have you been diagnosed with COVID 19?
o Have you been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID 19?
o Have you traveled to a “hot spot” for COVID 19?
The GHSA has set aside the week of June 29-July 3 as a “dead week,” and many of you have AAU teams you will be competing with in July… so our team schedule for later this summer is still unsure…
IMPORTANT - Because we were unable to have our banquet in March, we will distribute team awards and celebrate last season’s accomplishments on Thursday, 6/25, at 3:00 (prior to practice).
That said, next season can be a special one for our program, and I appreciate the work many of you have been putting in on your own to ensure that we are ready for the very competitive games that we have intentionally added to our schedule (attached).
Tough competition and showcase games will prepare us for the deep run we expect to make in the state playoffs – and that journey begins with re-connecting with each other and demanding effort and enthusiasm from ourselves and our teammates.
I am proud to be a part of the Cass Family, and can’t wait to get in the gym to work on our 2021 team goals.
See you Monday afternoon in the gym!!
and remember - the most important work MOST of you will get is in the WEIGHT ROOM where you can get stronger. Physical strengths contributes to mental strength - and makes you better at everything you do!
Looking forward to a fun and competitive summer with you!
